Hyaline Cartilage - 24"x23" acrylic on rigid insulation foam.

Copyright © Joshua J. Barbosa 2013

Hyaline cartilage is a type of cartilage found on many joint surfaces. It is pearly bluish in color with firm consistency and has a considerable amount of collagen. It contains no nerves or blood vessels, and its structure is relatively simple.

This is the first in a series of connective tissue paintings. Influenced by images of human tissue in microscopic scale. The intention here is not to render said images with any accuracy but instead to harness naturally occurring, organic compositions and color pallets.

  1. Acrylic Rendering
Acrylic Render: is a high performance pre-mixed polymer render allowing quick and easy thin section of rendering, suitable for fibre cement sheeting(blueboard) polystyrene sheets, sills and mouldings, Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) or (Hebel), Existing Painted Walls and Concrete or where a conventional render mix will not adhere to substrate and are more waterproof than cement renders.
